About

We make shirts about the stuff that sticks.

The Failing Company started with a simple conviction: the best graphic tee isn't a logo drop — it's a reference that makes a stranger stop and ask where you got it. Film stills that didn't make the cut. Album eras people forgot existed. Lines from shows that never get quoted. The moments that live in the margins of culture but define the people who found them.

That's what we design around.

The Design Philosophy

Every piece starts with something that felt underserved — a film like The Virgin Suicides, a record like Elliott Smith's Figure 8, a corner of the Sopranos universe that never got the merch it deserved. We don't chase what's already been done to death. We chase what the right person will immediately recognize and everyone else will walk past.

The goal is always the same: a shirt that reads as intentional. Not loud. Not ironic in the lazy way. Designed with enough precision that it works as a standalone piece of art — and as a signal to whoever gets it.

How They're Made

Every shirt is screen printed by hand on a manual press. One person. One press. Each color laid down separately, each print inspected before it's folded. Minor variations are normal — that's what hand printing looks like. We think that's a feature.

Garments are sourced from American Apparel, Los Angeles Apparel, and Comfort Colors — heavier blanks, preshrunk, built to last. Nothing here is a fashion tee. These are made to be worn hard.

Because everything is made to order, turnaround runs 3–4 weeks. We're not a warehouse. We're a print shop with a point of view.

Limited Drops & Collabs

Some things we only print once. The WORLD PIECE Soccer Jersey, the Silk Road Tee, the Glizzy — these are limited, one-time runs. When they're gone, they're gone. No restocks, no second chances. We announce drops when they're ready, not on a content calendar.

We also take on select collaborations when the reference is right and the execution has room to be something new. If you have an idea worth exploring, reach out.

Who We Are

One person. Los Angeles. Designing, printing, packing, and shipping every order personally. The Failing Company is a deliberately small operation — because that's the only way to keep the quality and the taste level where they need to be.

We're not trying to scale into a brand. We're trying to make things worth owning.
